2 months ago you would pay 80 euro (100 euro for a grade)for a 100ah @ 3.2v cell, now there are at 30 to 50 euro each?!?!?!?!?
Is there a new technology coming?
Or was there a over production?
What could explain a 50% price drop, that would make lifepo cheaper than nissan leaf cells???

Thanks in advance

Interesting.... I haven't been keeping up prices of cells. It would be interesting to know why.

I do know that there are several new technologies that are either about to go into production, or are ramping up production. One of them is Iron based battery. The manufacturing plant is already built and they will be cranking up production soon.
Also there are the flow batteries that are starting to become more popular.

Most are saying the price has gone up? But like Korishan, I don't really follow prices closely.

This is the first time I’m reading that the price has gone down. I’ve been reading from many posts that prices have gone up. But same here I don’t really keep track

In fact, prices did not fall but rose, the reason is because of the explosion of the electric vehicle market in the second half of last year, and a large number of models began to use LiFePo4 battery, which led to downstream demand exceeded the capacity of upstream material manufacturers, lithium iron phosphate cathode material and electrolyte are very short. At present, in addition to full production capacity of materials they will also need to continue to increase the scale to meet future demand.

At the same time, as automakers began to purchase custom LiFePo4 batteries in large quantities, and then battery manufacturers had to compress the production of general-purpose cells. This directly led to a large shortage of LiFePo4 cells in April-May, the situation has slightly improved, but the price increase since May so far has not fallen back on the trend. Because the current still can not fully meet the market.

There is also an important factor, since the end of last year, due to the covid-19 pandemic triggered by international freight disruption, resulting in international shipping fee has continued to rise by more than 50% so far.

But never heard of 100 euro for 100Ah @ 3.2v is too high. Even for the A gauge, 30-50 € is a reasonable price on the market this year. Is it because of the big shortage at that time?

Which cells were you referring to here? Maybe that'll help clear up what's going on a little bit ;)

Those where the first ones i could find..

310 ah 48v is ~30kwh....1600 euro....
oke:

500 euro for 10 kw @ 48v....

Yes i check prices of lead, gold, copper, iron, wood/lumber, lithium, ect, there is a (several) reason! for that, every month.
But this is cheap 50% down on....no matter what...
per kwh 50% eashy, proof me wrong please

Oke you will have to wait a bit longer or be happy enough that they have a warehouse close to your country(in mu case Germany)
Below 100 euro/ dollar a kw storage or even 50 euro/dollar a kwh.......dont aspect quality, but it is cheaper than ev batts.....\
My money is on a new techie techie technologies is coming....

btw those where the the first ones i could find on alie express, do your own homework, I have somebody else for my future to come,
Just like bio diesel...your future begins here...your jurney forever...
Take it away and do your advance with it.....

Oke regarding home energies storige systems this is cheaper than the last 3 years.....down to 50 euro a kwh on storage, oke quality will cost 75 a kwh of storage....there is something going on
BUT WHAT IS GOING ON

With best regards Igor

BTW i am somebody that creates a 1000 litres of water on his roof with filtration to flush his toilet......cheapest way possible.more expensive at the end, but you will save big and small money, every euro/dollar is one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I found out there are a lot of reasons why they are almost 50% cheaper for EU inhabitants.
Vat is increased with 21%(import duty is now calculated, white board criminals) they will get a bit back in there shipping costs.
Chinese economy is shrinking for the 3 quarter(3 x 3 months) this time
Heavy floods and forest fires.
Vacation period in Europe, people will rather go on a holiday after the corona and such then buy from ali's
Dollar is very low compared to the euro.

Basically simple economics, they want to sell there stock left over's, Europa does not want or can buy(floods and forest fires).
So for the EU members this is a win win situation, cheaper than second handed ev batts...per kwh

Even GWL has a profit from it...you recognise the cells?(based and seated in Czech Republic EU

With best regards Igor K

Most if not all blue chines cells are second handed ev batts, except most of the a grade's.

There is a company that reinvented the lifepo cell, they call it the blade cell
The company is called BYD.
The production methods and the new form seems to be so cheap that new cells 3.7V 202A are under the 100$(92$ i believe) NEW
Draw back---> before they will get to our market as second handed cells i am afraid we will have to wait two years.
For new single cells probably a year...lets see what our roberment is going to do with tax.

There cars are also very promising 77kwh battery seems to be able to do ~600 kilometers ~450 miles on one charge.
Not available in the Netherlands yet

And a new chemistry is in development, with a solid state metal, instead a liquid slat solution, just read one or two papers about it.
I know i had to save the link, please don't hang me for this.

With best regards Igor.

nobody is getting brand new cells... they all have obvious refurbishment marks on them.. scratch's on the terminals for instance... they are all pulls from electirc busses or factory rejects, or wharehouse queens sitting ont he shelf too long. wake up. anybody selling at this pint in time is suspect. i got descent cells... are the grade a etc?.. no... and no I don't sell
