Where Did You Find Us?

Initially jehu's vids got me interested in A DIY wall, then found Pete's channel. Pretty cool that you're here in Bris mate.

I found you by being linked to the cell database fromsomewhere else

I found that not only the cell database is good ( and unique?), but the forum is much better on the subject than anything else i know.
And I feel well here...

Could we also build a battery pack database? That way we know what packs are good and worth digging into.

That's much harder to do as you get different cells in the same packs just depending on what they bought and when.

I was into all this stuff (RC / power / battery / solar related things) well before the Jehu, Pete, or any of the others helped with its popularity, but it was ultimately their videos on YouTube that drove me to this forum specifically.

Before this forum, I spend more time on Candle Power Forums and Endless Sphere, but I do like the Powerwall specific program here so I signed up to share with the community.

Where did you hear about DIYPowerwalls? I assume for most it will be either Peter's Youtube channel or the Facebook group. I'm curious to see if anyone found their way here from another forum, social group, or search engine like Google.

From googling DIYpowerwall.
Am off grid and always looking at alternate power sources.

They tend to be a mixed bag. You can never really be sure what you might get. You can have two identical packs, and one can be almost like new, and the other completely 'worn out'. It really depends on how they spent their life.

Best suggestion, is to stick to brand name batteries, not generic replacements.

Agreed - battery packs are wildly different in the cells they contain so not much point in that. Starting a thread about what you've found might work tho something less formal so to speak

through YouTube videos looking at solar generators. then found out about 18650 Batteries now i'm hooked.and wanting to learn more about powerwalls.

Pretty much the same. Searching youtube for battery storage for solar. Have used 18650 batteries before, and seen HBPowerwall's setup in the past. Finally took an interest and saw a comment about this site in one of the YT videos I was watching suggesting the site.
