Where did you hear about DIYPowerwalls? I assume for most it will be either Peter's Youtube channel or the Facebook group. I'm curious to see if anyone found their way here from another forum, social group, or search engine like Google.

I was browsing throughMike's YouTube posting and it was from there I got the Link.
Thank you for introducing this web site.
It has helped me to identify many of my Li-Ion batteries, harvested from several portable drills.

In my case I was just doing a google search for some 18650 cells data and specs. I found Mike's sheets and then started to lurk the forum.
Great place indeed :)

I just started watching all of the YouTube videos mostly HBpowerwalls. Lots of information that I'm just trying to digest. I would love to have a powered like his someday. I don't think I will go down the road of finding all the laptop batteries though. I don't have the time to do that. Looking for a quicker solution.

Hi All, I found this site though several links. I have been playing with solar, batteries and Inverters for several years. As my batteries are starting to die after 8 years,I thought I would go looking for new alternatives. This should be an interesting trip as I keep an open mind to what people say is available now. It has changed a lot since I first started looking at solar, batteries and Inverters.

Regards Don.

I'm well advanced on building a home office / lab in the garden of our bungalow we moved in to this year. It happens to be next to the garage, which has about 8 square metres of roof, angled at a suitable pitch and facing the right way for some solar power. It has been calling me to find some pre-loved solar panels to help power my rather energy-hungry hobbies of computers, music and electronics, and the UK have today announced changes to the rules on feed-in tariffs for new installs, which means there will be some spare panels coming on the market soon. That got me thinking about energy storage, and I quite literally did a search for "DIY Powerwall" on Google. That led me to the Motherboard article on DIY Powerwall builders using recycled laptop batteries, which led here.

I intend staying.

Welcome LEDSchlucker & very one else I've missed :D

Hello
Same for me, I first found a video of Peter showing how to repair Ryobi batteries then I watched his DIY powerwall videos and yesterday I filed a statement in the town hall of my city to put 18 solar panels on the roof of my house ^^

Hello, I found the forum when googling for 18650 information. I'm not even 100% sure the aim and scope of the board yet; just want to get in on doing my part in collecting and sharing information on energy storage!

Welcome everyone

hola a todos, llegue aca por un enlace del foro Solarweb
les saludo de Guatemala, y empezando a juntar para hacer mi primer powerwall

Hello everyone, come here for a link from the Solarweb forum, I greet you from Guatemala, and I'm starting to collect batteries for my first powerwall

I remember this forum being mentioned in a few youtube videos I have watched. While doing research via Google searches I kept on finding myself on these forums. I finally decided to register to become a member, and look forward to being part of a DIY battery community!
