Where Did You Find Us?

I washed up here after hurricane Michael knocked down my weather head atop my electrical service entrance.
That was a while ago and I have remained on solar since.
I recently decided that I would find a better way to charge a laptop computer since my battery only lasted about 39 minutes and using an inverter to convert 12 volt DC into 115 volt AC in order to charge an 11.1 volt battery seemed to be insult to all mankind.
Amen.

I use a different method to charge cells.
The picture is of my lawn care equipment that no longer use the 12, 14.4, 18, or 20 volt battery packs as I power the weed eater, blowers, drills, that I have found discarded by the way side.
I converted the batteries to power lights and fans.

My latest build is The Light Light Fan.
It is a 12 volt light that is powered by 12 volt solar which in turn I put a small solar panel under the dome like shade facing down to meet up with the led light bulb and that charges 3.7s times 2 and they power more LED lights.
And it has a fan on top.

I actually found this site by using Google. I was searching trying to learn the difference between LGABC21865 AND LGABC41865 CELLS. My laptop battery stopped charging suddenly and I ordered a replacement with "supposedly" the same model number and specs as mine but the laptop refused to work with it. I have never had one to do this before. It actually put up a screen and told me it was not a genuine Dell cell battery and promptly shut down. After reading the spec sheets on both cells there is very little difference so I am stumped trying to figure out the problem.

Hi dudes,

A newbie here, I was started seying a youtube video on how to build a power bank with 18650 batteries from laptop batteries and I was thinking about how to use my 3 replaced latop batteries before to waste them. At this moment I'm waiting for the material needed to build it and meanwhile I've watched several videos on how to do power walls and I'm thinking to change my house diesel calefaction system by a battery powered system.

I hoppe to learn the best way to do it.

Hi there. Yep, YouTube. Didn't know there was such a thing as DYI powerwalls. Now I'm trying to find the intro article (or vid) just to get the basics!

Welcome to all the new members

Google search looking up spec data about cells.

Maybe the wrong section but I think it would improve the search engine of the forum.
To find results I use google to search on your forum.

:D I'm sure Peter mentioned you guys, but I kept finding you doing searches on battery id's in goGGles ;)

Where did you hear about DIYPowerwalls? I assume for most it will be either Peter's Youtube channel or the Facebook group. I'm curious to see if anyone found their way here from another forum, social group, or search engine like Google.

Google ... but because I was looking for RePackr which I learned about on a YouTube video (sorry ... too long ago to remember which .... maybe AverageJoe)

Hi Mike,
Found your link originally from a DIY electric car guy in Springwood Qld. Looking forward to learning how to use my many 18650 batteries I have been collecting.
