Which cell in your opinion currently on the market is the best value per Ah

Interesting question. For my applications the best value per Ah is buying 90% used 18650 cells... yes, they could also be high capacity.
They are relatively cheap and give a lot of amps.

You will be better off by purchasing Large Capacity cells as there is a lot of work to build a power wall out of 18650's like I did. But you also have to look at what you can get and for what Price. I generally try for the sub $100 per Kwh but with the larger form factors it may be closer to $200 /KWh for the convenience of the setup.

80 euro a kilo watt, or my previous post...50 euro a kwh...
They need to get rid off the 100 to 150 ah cells, one year old cells
If you live in the EU.....incl tax that is
310 and even 360 ah cells i have seen and a new sort of cells up to 500Ah i forgot the chemistry, but there is something going on.

To reduce weight i would suggest lifepo4 cells or plain li ion and not the 18650 but his bigger brothers...
For pure kwh storage per kilo i really dont now, li ion seems to be a good one, but the tesla cells are pretty heavy for there storage, and they use li ion.

With best regards Igor

The biggest differences between 18650 or 22-23 what ever cylindrical cell in li ion chem or lifepo is the cycle life and self life..
On this forum we have someone(forgot who, i am terribly sorry) that was squeezing out the last mA...... no, the last picoA out of a cell, he got ~1500 cycles.
Needles to say that with every cycle the cell "consume" itself like a steam engine(dendrite mostly).
There are forum members that use a 60% dod and after a 1000!!! cycles still have a 70% SOH..

Back to lifepo.
Some new cells can do at a 80% DOD 6000! cycles
So is it worth the money to rebuild your battery bank after 5 years in li ion becouse you had 1000 cycles? or spend 3 times more and gain 4000 cycles....
The overall price is the same.

BUT the ever irritating BUT...
With lifepo4 big capacity cells will save you A LOT of time.
In the end, price wise....it does NOT matter per kwh storage for one year or one cycle.
Heck li ion 18650's are in the long run cheaper....go big or go home.
With that i mean, make your ess big enough that you can last two weeks without sun and they will die of ageing and not cycle life...
(Many thanks Daromer for you giving me my homework, was some nice calculations)

With best regards Igor

Ps,
Some times some company's needs to get rid of there "old stock" sometimes, or a new start up....
Than a purchase of lifepo4 prismatic cells can be justified...i am talking about 50 to 80 euro a kwh storage with 3x more cycle life and 3x longer self life...
On ali express or ali baba, ali express is more transcuralent about tax and sipping costs! no need for contacting the seller.
But what will you get? cold left overs from yesterday evening? or some serious cells? 50 at 50% chance for the last 5 years, make good appointments with them, shipping back is very expensive...
get a ir reader like the yr 1030/1035....the best money can buy(thank wolf not me....)

Dont forget to calculate your cell holders and fusses on the 18650's or https://batteryhookup.com/collectio...uous-roll-by-the-foot-18650-cell-level-fusing
, with a k welder and buss-bares....this is a world wide forum, prices are different in different country's....or what you can get
