Yeah, I've seen a lot of videos popping up on YT about the price drops. So far I haven't seen anything massive. I'm curious how things will turn out when XMR gets it's own ASIC. That's gonna suck overall.
It is a very curious situation indeed. I am yet to see a PCB photo from inside one. I don't imagine they would be cheap to manufacture - rumor has it that they have up to 72gb of RAM.
Also with rumors of a hard fork coming to prevent ASIC mining who knows. It is all just speculation and rumor.
Just my 2c - I recon that some of these miners must already be commissioned. The drop in ETH value over the past months is a little too steep to be accounted for by rumor alone.
I would say. It looks like it has actually been released now. Very expensive. I don't think they will sell very well. It would be a huge gamble. Especially if ETH does fork.
Although there are theories that these devices may be FPGA based, and somewhat immune to algorithm changes.
I bet the difficulty increase of eth was caused by the new ASIC miners being tested on a massive scale. Now they have been well tested they'll sell them off and move to the next most profitable coin to mine .
