Hy guys,

I am looking for a hybrid inverter for my 10 KWh/48V Lithium Battery. I was contacting suppliers for a PIP4048 but they are claiming it doesn't work with a lithium battery.

I know, many of you i saw on youtube do have those kind of inverters.

Do you use the MPPT charger from the inverter?
Or an extra Charger and the Inverter only to draw current from the battery?
Any special settings on the charger parameters to consider?

Thx in advance, Roland

I use it too and just set float and bulk to same voltage. But its recomended to have a BMS that can controll the inverter so you dont overcharge your packs. The PIP is not per default able to do this but there is software and you can build ur own to controll it.

I purchased a MPPT charge regulator was told it did lithium batteries. Well to be fair it did but not 18650.
The min set points were way to high, ie for a 3s pack the float was around 13.2v.
The various charging types were all to high but they were all variable.
I then made a large diode bank that i fed between the controller and bank. The controller now sees 0.7v higher than the bank . For 12.6v I can set controller to 13.3 etc. Crude as it is it works well.
The path to the bank must be large current diodes and you will need a 1A or so diode as a back to back configuration so the controller can see the battery.

Hope this helps.
