Maybe you can answer a question that I cant find an answer for. 14s100p(14packsof100p) vs. 10 packs of 14s10p.

The BMS would be bigger and more costly on the 10p packs, but you could remove a pack and still keep the system running,ifonepackdiesyoukeeponrunning.Addingontoyoursystemwouldbeeasier,youtheoreticallyonlyneed140cellstoaddonandnot1400.You could also build the 10p pack with like cells, one 10p pack with all 2000mah and another 10p pack with all 2600mah, etc. This (from what I understand) would be better than 100p pack with cells from 1900mah to 3000mah.

You have answered your own question, sort of. You've said all the right things. The more complex/bigger/more expensive BMS is the main reason.

really it all comes down to your personal preference. I am of the school of a single BMS with many cells in parallel how ever that looks like for you of a specific number of cell collections in series. for my use I use 7s but that's as I only need 24V

Build n+1. If you only got 1400 cells i would build 3 strings so you can remove 1 and continue to run :) Thats how I do it.
