For what price? I rather skip 18650 nowadays and go for larger cells Smile Unless you have a really good price of 18650 cells i doubt you can match what I get it for today.

Im currently running a manual transfer switch between solar and grid. I generally dont have to switch over but the few times I do maintenace or when wife blows the fuse i would like to transfer the load automatically. Next project is therefore to install an ATS with some IOT logic attached to it Big Grin

How much you would pay for unused refurbished 18650 cell with capacity of 2800mAh, top brands like LG SONY SAMSUNG?

Not much to be hones Smile Last i bought cells with known capacity that was around 0.35EURO per cell

Hi Daniel, these projects are amazing!!... I recently came in to a large quantity of the worst kind - tiny LiFePo4 batteries... wish I could have acquired bigger, but these were hard to pass up - due to local pickup. I am wondering if you can give any tips for processing 10,000 little cells as you have done, ie is there anything better than an Opus to capacity test ~8 cells, or should I just start stacking a bunch of opus on the wall? Would you mind sharing your process for how you "process" them? ( just sent you a tip to fund your amazing developmentsWink Do you start with a simple pass/fail test on voltage or resistance before checking capacity.

I run it very very simple. As little steps as possible so i leave out the ir testing as example Im only interested in capacity at my max current.
This is how I do it:

Open the packs- Put them in the opus. Write capacity on the cell
Leave them for 2+ weeks. Meassure voltage

If voltage is above 4.1v and capacity is above 2Ah they are good to go. All other that fails is binned from powerwall.
I have even started to bin all low voltage cells that the opus doesnt recognize. the work bringing them back is to costly in time.

I use 10 opus chargers. That gives me a test of 80 cells per day. Thats MORE than enough for me since i cant open enough packs or build enough packs per day anyways.

Thats what i would consider the fastest way if you look at your process time on the wall.

The time it takes in the charger i dont care about.
