Hey guys. Long time tinkerer here.

IT background but more medical management in the last few years. I've been following a few Youtube projects (the interest started with Jehu's bus).

I'm considering a relatively minor project. A submersible pump which moves grey water out of a tank to a large lawn area and veggie patch (when there isn't a silly amount of rain making it too boggy). It's on mains at the moment, but seems ideal for a small solar with battery setup.

The pump draws about 250-300w measured. It's using a float switch so only runs for 5-10 minutes at a time. I've got a couple of APC 1.5kva and a 3kva UPS laying about, so one of those as an inverter should do. 1.5kva units are 24v (haven't checked the 3kva yet), so I'm thinking a second hand 24v 250w panel with a solar charge controller and a 6S lithium setup.

Welcome mate. Sounds like a plan!
Are you an Aussie?
