Finally bought a Batrium BMS
#1
Hi Guys,

today I finally decided to by a Batrium WM4 starter kit for my Powerwall.
It was not an easy decission as it will cost me around 1T€ including TAX and everything.
As a first step I'm building 14s60P, which I will then connect the WM4 to.
I hope this was the last Expensive invetsigation now for my system now.

And I sure as hell will need support from you to set it up the right way.

I'm going on Holiday for the next week and after that I will start adding the busbars to my packs.

So, wish me luck Big Grin

Congrats ....I think you will really like the Batrium once you get it going.  But as one that has learned some hard lessons ....double and triple check when connecting items such as fans, shunt trip breakers etc.  to it.  Know your current demands etc.  before connecting anything to the outputs especially.  This comment is not meant as a negative just a cautionary one.  Enjoy the Batrium!

Gentlemen,

I can confirm, my new Batrium equipment has just been delivered today. Didn't expect it so fast.
What I don't understand, I didn't have to pay any taxes or extra fees or toll.
Does anyone have an explanation for this, or do I have to expect a letter from the government in the next days?

Now I have to speed up with my Bus Bars and cabeling.

Almost certainly.

Here in the UK DHL tend to either send notification that you've got an import tax bill owing before they deliver, or they'll deliver but expect instant payment before they allow you to have the item - or they'll wait just long enough for you to think you aren't going to get a bill, and then they'll send it.

Hi Guys,

as expected, first issues appeared on installation:

1. Toolkit is  telling me, that there is a newer software avalable, although the icon is green ( I think the toolkit Software is ment here, my Version is from the homepage 2.0.12.0 ) When I try to update it for WM4 I get the error message in the right corner: No Installer update available for this", which is a message I didn't see in the documentation on the Batrium Homepage. So no update possible.

2. Toolkit is telling me also, that the Supervisor needs a firmware update, although  even this icon is green.
When I start the update I get a succes message at the end, but Toolkit still says, update necessary.

Connection icon and Wizard Icon are green also. Actuall Firmware Version is 4.9 as Connection selector tells me.
This doesn't change after a firmware update is announced to be successfull.
I used the original USB cable and two different Pcs for testing.

Has anyone an idea how to solve this?

What I realized now, the cellmon cables are different.
I got 16 overall, 3 have a black and red cable for connecting to the battries, 13 hav only a red cable.
In any description I always see that this cable should have always black and red cables.
Or is this a new solution? Does anyone have some input on this?

For #1 and #2....
When I first got my Batrium I had the same 'update' symptoms/issues.  In my case I had downloaded 1.0.31 toolkit and I needed the 2.0.rc7 toolkit...  e.g. Batrium was not able to handle all the different versions of toolkit.    So I suggest checking with Batrium or checking to see if you can find an different version toolkit that matches your WM4.

Cabeling - there are plenty of helpful web pages at www.batrium.com:
I have longmons.   Each of my cables has has a 4pin connector with red/black -> battery and yellow/blue -> 2pin connector for next mon.
Like this:  https://www.batrium.com/products/cable-longmon

You probably have a CellMon extension cable that facillitates connecting the watchmon to the chain of mons...
Like this: https://www.batrium.com/products/extension-cable-with-cellmon-connector

You might have a shunt cable as well?

Hi,

I will check for a different Toolkit Version.

Here's  a quick pic of what kind of Longmon cables I got.

I also got a CMU cable for connecting the Longmons to the WM4, but I still think, the Longmon cables are wrong, because in all pictures on the Batrium side, they always have a black and a red connector for the cells.

No , they are not leafmon wires, on my 13 cables the black cable is completely missing.

I will check with Batrium tomorrow.
