Finally bought a Batrium BMS

You have received 3x longmon cables and 13x blockmon cables... Blockmon cables don't have a black wire because the blockmon connects directly to the cell -ve terminal.
Current system: 9.6kWh wet Nicad batteries, 16S1P Calb LiFePo4 210aH, Batrium WM4, Outback vfx3048 inverter, mx60 mppt controller, flexware 500 mounting hardware, 2.4kW solar array, 6kW lister diesel genset. MY'13 Vauxhall Ampera

Hi HughF,

you're right , just got the feedback today from Batrium,

they are Blockmon cables and I will get replacments for the wrong ones.

I hope to be done with adding the busbars until the new cables arrive.

Gentlemen, it's alive, finally  Smile

With support from Daniel and a new Toolkit version from Batrium today I finally got the system running. Big Thanx for this.
But I must admit, the journey is not at it's end, means I have no clue, how to configure the system to handle my Batteries.
I watched all available videos on youtube, e.g. from daromer, hbpowerwall or average Joe, and I still don't understand where I have to tweak the system exaclty the way that my Cellpacks are keept in my prefered rang:
Can someone please help me here:

I want to keep my cells between 3,5V(lowest) and 4.0V(highest) and have them fully loaded at the end of the day.
My Inverter is set to
Bulk 54,9V
Float 54,4V


I think it should be set to 56 V for full capacity?

But which values do I need to set in the Batrium Toolkit?

You'll kill those 3 mons if you run them at that temp.

Ok, can you tell me how to avoid this, which parameter is responsible for this?

I have added my settings, maybe someone can check and correct me where I'm wrong.
Like I said, I want to keep the voltage of my packs between 3.5 and 4.0.

In Cellmon, reduce the bypass current limit - probably down to around .6A - you could manually drop those three cells with a resistance, that would be kinder to the mons, rather than having them run at or above their thermal max.

Thanks for this tip, will try to find an external resistor solution.

Can it be done, while the pack is still connected?

I changed the bypass limit now to 0.6, as you recommended.

This is how it looks like atm.


But how do I get them all to the top, maybe around 3.95V, atm there seems to be no charging...

Update: I changed the Float value on the Inverter to 55V and now it has started with charging

You can set autolevel or you configure the Charge voltage to a level where the bypass function kicks in on the top ones

Ok,

I set it to auto level, but still don't understand the action and where to tweak that all cells keep on the same level.
Especially cell 13 and 14 are lower then the others and I don't see any kind of charging on these cells.

Or do I need to be more patien, because this needs time?



Any further recommendations, which values I need to set correctly? Should I upload my settings maybe again?

Still trying to understand the function, watching videos over and over.

By the way, can I somehow export the settings to keep them save before changing something, or to import it later again?

You appear to have the charger Vmax set to 56v, and your pack voltage (measured by the Batrium shunt) is also 56v - so given some small allowance for error it's no surprise that you'll see little if any charge current - the charger thinks the battery is full.

How much PV is attached to the charger, and do you see an increase in charge current if you increase the bulk charge voltage (temporarily) by 1 volt ?

Also, you previously appear to have bypass voltage CV9 set to 3.98 - that's the voltage at which all cell voltages will converge - the last image illustrates that you've now altered that - perhaps to 4.03 - you'll obviously need some charge input to bring the remaining cells up into bypass.
