There's a new wall in Germany!

Just curious (might of been mentioned earlier) what are the black boxes on the end? You show them in the last 2 images.

Hi Oliver,
You are not afraid that it is too damp in the cellar?
The holders for the copper pipes are actually for plastic pipes. Will not that be too heavy?
Are not screw clamps better? (Schraubbohrschellen die Teile mit Gummischale und Stockschraube )

With that many connections and holders, the weight isn't an issue. Plus, shear weight is different than hanging weight.

I doubt his basement is that damp. Considering all the other stuff he has down there that's not damp, mildewing, rusting, I think the cells will be just fine. If he wants to put a little extra added protection, just apply some of that red spray stuff that's used on car battery terminals that keeps them from corroding.

yep, as Daniel said, these are "1s single cell balancers" (the name doesn't really make sense Big Grin ), see here.

Hi Gerd,

yes, it's a little bit damp down there, but I don't think this will affect the cells in any way. And I soldered all contact terminals to keep them from corroding. Time will show if that's enough...

You're right, the Holders are for 16mm plastic pipe and I use 15mm copper tubes - and none of them complained so far Wink . Weight also shouldn't be a problem, each pack is 1kg, there're five packs hanging on one tube segment that's fixed with 3 screws...

the spray is a nice idea, I'll keep that in mind Smile

or get the varnish that you spray motor windings, it comes in a spray paint can.

Which ever one is cheaper Smile They both basically do the same thing for this particular job. Anything else that might work for that? What ever it is, it would need to be electrically neutral (clear enamel paint might not work for this)

Just curious, what's with the resistors on the first pack-pic?
