mpp SOLAR SPLIT PHASE 5000W
#1
Well ..   Been looking around for people that have these up and running.

I would like to know what you think of the unit. Still playing around with what I may do. My second group of panels will be install on my roof this winter and I have been thinking about getting this unit.
Things I would like to know
1) what is the max Battery voltage input ( what the unit likes ) they can write anything on the specs … But how does it work at max input and min input ?
2) What is the PV input per MPPT unit installed  145v ? and what is the max watt input per Mppt controler ( mppt sweet spot is ?? )
3) MAIN THING !!!!!!
             is this a 5000watt unit that is 2500wat per leg ( L1 is 2500w and L2 2500w making it 5000w ) OR is it a true 5000watts per leg ????

I have looked around and haven't found any posts form anyone using the unit ..  I would love feed back from those that have it !!
THANKS AGAIN GUYS !!!

1. You can find it in the specifications. No one can tell anything else. FOLLOW THAT.
2. In the specs once again. Make sure that the MAX input is MAX. so you need to calculate the max you get on the coldest days. Its generally higher than the spec on the panels. Max W input is in the specs to. Sweet spot we dont know either but you should generally e in top range of the voltage. So for a 145VDC max system 3s is generally best on 60 cell panels. 4s is to high
3. Its 5000W MAX.... Thats always combined if nothing else states on MPP producs. They can go tiny bit over for few seconds ONLY:....

MPP and any other cheap brands are the same in terms of specifications. They are over rated and their numbers are their max max. Dont count on anything else.
Like my 10kW inverter from MPP. Its basically MAX 3.3kw per phase... Nothing else

I did a quick check:
http://www.mppsolar.com/v3/catalogs/spli...LV5048.pdf
I guess its this one? MPPT is max 110VDC working voltage. Stay under that for your Vmp and below 145 for Voc.

It doesnt say battery voltage so stay under 58VDC to be safe. Thats 14s system.

Max input on solar is 4kw per mppt. You can have more solar panels but it wont be able to use more.

Hi Guys,

There are a couple of these all in one inverters like the LV-5048 running for a few months and i did find a link to another similar unit
Darfon 5000. They seem similar, not exact, one has a one year warranty and the other a five year warranty. I too would like to hear
from some one running these units and there experience.

darfon or darfonsolar?

They seem to be a company that have kind of a productline called darfonsolar that is one of the clone-series that looks like all MPP and other products out there. Im pretty sure that line of products are made in same area or with same drawings.

Im pretty sure you can expect same experience from them Smile

So what is interesting is that this model appears to be UL certified.

Whereas the MPP LV 5048 is not at this time.

Hello!

I have this unit and I have had problems with it. At the moment, the technical support still does not solve me, the investor is currently within the guarantee and they simply ask many questions and do not tell me what is happening or how it resolves this. I have more than a month waiting for the results and nothing tells me to have a little patience.

Here I leave a photo with the specifications

One or two folks here have this unit already. https://secondlifestorage.com/showthread...plit+phase. No real review, but I expect it to be two inverters paralleled, which is why it's wider than a standard 240V 5048. It's got a higher idle usage as well. I was toying with the idea of getting a 240V 5048 and then using an autotransformer to get the split phase, but kinda went a different way.

manualflorencio, what kind of issues are you having? Most of these units have similar functions that we may be able to help with.

Hi!

The problem is that when the inverter is in battery mode there is a flicker in the lighting (bulbs) inside my house. One of the phases its voltage is very unstable, it fluctuates a lot.
