LOL yup, done that before too.

The other day I was working on some electronics. I had a bunch of tiny screws laying a paper towel so they didn't roll around. As I was putting things back together, I decided to use said paper towel to wipe the screen. I was screwed Tongue Found them all, tho. Magnets are great

Ice cube trays work a treat. Just make sure your screwdriver is magnetic, so you can pick up the screws. Then if you need to put the job away, you can simply pack the whole tray up.

edit:

The main purpose, is that I organize parts either or the order that I removed them, or in positions relative to where they come from. If its too big to fit in the tray, it is probably too big to be inadvertently knocked off the bench, or otherwise misplaced. The best part, is when you pick up a screw you don't have to check that it is the correct thread or the correct length, as there is no way for them to become mixed up.

Yeh, that would work - I usually have a bunch of magnets on the desk, but this day I was on the other desk... Rushing as usual

I just use a power driver to put the self tappers in the machined holes, and visa versa.

  1. Why don't you paint it?
"Hairy Lime" has to stay.... I painted mine battleship gray (only tin in the garage and 1 paint brush when I drove in.... separate story)

A guy goes into a seafood restaurant and asks to see the dishes of the day. The waiter wheels over a trolley and the man examines the dishes.
"I'll have the little green squid with the hairy lip, please" says the man.
"Okay." replies the waiter and calls out "Gervais!!"
A little French chef appears with a large knife, the waiter instructs the chef to kill the little green squid with the hairy lip.
Gervais is just about to slice at the poor squid when he notices a tear running down its face. Gervais is touched and says that he hasn't the heart to kill the squid.
"Not to worry" says the waiter and calls out "Hans!!" at which an enormous German bloke comes out of the kitchen.
"Sir", says the waiter, "this is Hans, the dishwasher. Hans, kill that squid!"
The dishwasher wields a huge meat clever and is just about to kill the little green squid with the hairy lip when it cringes back and gives a little cry.
"I am sorry, I just cannot kill the squid" Hans admits, his lower lip trembling.
"Well sir," says the waiter, "it just goes to show... That Hans that do dishes, can be soft as Gervais, with mild green, hairy lip squid"

For those that don't get it, fairy liquid, a dish washing liquid in the UK. Old joke.

30 second on...

Separate one, I could start my mini with a 2p coin... key was optional.
Nobody would steal it without paying them.
Had to knock a hole in the wing to get the clutch off (siezed on).
Also patched the holes up when painting with some sweet wrappers laying around whcih were painted on/over. worked as long as nobody poked a finger through.
Only crashed it once..... that was the 80's.

Torque is the main reason to avoid hub motors, along with cost and maintenance/failure rate.

Tesla went multi motor gearing through a standard(ish) axle for a good reason. Tri motor has 2 motors on one axle with different designs to optimise efficiency and starting torque as the motors hand over/share output.

If you can't quantify how much they cost, it's a deal, I'll buy 5 of them for 3 lumps of rocking horse ......
