I'm a 50-year-old in the midlands of Ireland with a strong interest in everything technological. I have a dream to build a powerwall that I can charge at night when electricity is cheap, and consume during the day. That would be stage 1. Stage 2 would be getting a solar and/or wind system running.

But I don't have a whole lot of money, and I'm renting, so options are limited.

I currently have a Jehu Garcia 7S7P with recycled 2200mAh batteries that I use for power when I'm out and about (I'm an amateur film-maker). It's given me experience, and ideas. I notice that a lot of my electronics actually run on DC power, so I'm thinking I might try and bypass the inverter for most stuff, and just use DC-DC converters straight off the power coming from the powerwall.

I also intend to see if I can use a ZVS induction heater I bought some time ago to boil water for my tea and coffee.

I just have too many ideas for my own good
