Just showing off my little setup.. two 2000 watt sun Grid tie inverters using 21 amps max each. 3800 watts of solar wired 100 volts 38 amps. Outback fm60 charge controller charging at 43 amps max. Two used Chevy volt Ev batteries 60v nominal, charged to 64v max, drained to 58.6 minimum.. electric bill is usually not far from the minimum they charge for service..
$5000 invested and will have it back in 5yrs.. Im happy with that, then its $1000 a year saved after that
Other reasons such a low electric bill are that I built and use a wood boiler ( free wood slabs from lumber mill) for heating the house
