Certainly if you want to do 1 cell at a time. Of course you can buy 4 of them and do 4 cells but then you might as well buy an OPUS and it will charge as a bonus. :)

Now once you build your Packs you can certainly test the Packs with it so you can verify that all your Packs are pretty much equal.

The iCharger will likely last much longer and certainly has more sophisticated features - I particularly like the easy auto-off by voltage on discharge so I don't have to watch it closely when using it:)

Almost all of those cheap electronic loads you see on eBay, Ali, etc are junk. However there is one superb 150W 60V/10A load that can be had for about $25 that I described in this post. The latest version claims to do DC IR tests too.

I have two and they have held up well under heavy use over a few years (and the factory calibration is good down to a couplemV/mA, better than many cheapDMMs!).

Otoh, I've lost count of the number of bad reviews I've seen of similar units, which often don't come even close to handling the rated power, are made with used parts, and seem to be designed by someone who barely knows electronics. I read lots of electronics reviews, and these loads count near the top of the list ofstuff I've seen that is almost always very low quality. If you buy a random unit it will almostsurely be low quality. In fact - off the top of my head -I can't think of any other device where there is currently only one known good choice among cheap Chinese units.

Not according to reports. In RC forums many Junsi iCharger users claimed their iChargers died soon after nontrivial amounts of discharging. Many stopped using them as dischargers due to such. I don't know if this has been fixed in later modelssince I haven't been following such in the pastfew years.

Most hobbychargers simply don't have adequate thermal design to survivemuch use as a load. Better to use a dedicated load that is designed to handle the heat.

I use a 100a power meter and a 300w 12v heater blower for 12v capacity tests. they can be wired in a series for higher volt needs.

My setup pulls over 450 watts at 14.4 volts @30.00$US total
