Havebrass or CuZn wire,
With or without zinc or CuZn coating.
In sizes of .006", .008" .01", .20mm or .25mm

It for a wire edm.

The .01" and bigger will care 10 amps no problem
The .008" breaks between 7 and 10 amps
The .006" around 3 to 5 amps

Depends if I have it on a bus bar and how long the fuse is.

Does the material type of the wire matter?

As long as you know the range of blowing then the material doesn't really matter.

The longer the wire the longer it will take to blow (as heat is dissipated). It may still blow at 7Amps, just could be a difference of a few seconds.

But as mentioned, if you know the blow amperage, and you use it for it's proper application/location, then the material it's made of doesn't make a whole lot of difference. The only thing you may want to make sure of is the resistance of the wire. Two wires may blow at 7Amps, but one type may have .01v drop, and the other .02v drop (as an example) and you'd want the .01v drop wire.

Don't trust wire specs, test it. I've ordered multiple wires from China that turned out to be quite different than what they promised.

wire type diff of course. different specs in terms of how fast they blow and all that.

Shorter wire create less heat due to less resistance.
