LiFePo4 "Bricks" actual lifetime
#1
Din anyone used LiFePo4 batteries like the ones below ?

www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Rechargeable-batteries-Lifepo4-battery-cell-100Ah_62019089683.html

www.alibaba.com/product-detail/lifepo4-50ah-80ah-90ah-100ah-200ah_62370372211.html

www.alibaba.com/product-detail/prismatic-size-2500cycle-rechargeable-lifepo4-3_60713129797.html

They seem a good choice for solars, but I have doubts about their number of cycles.

Try these guys:
https://frey.en.alibaba.com/productlist.html
They seem to be a larger actual factory/manufacturer not just a "re-badger".
Bought my cells from them - seemed to be on the ball, got custom steel cases made
They are going well so far ~ 2.75 years in :-)

DONT YOU DARE.......
I don't know anything about the cells redpacket was telling you, but I heard some good reports......

BUT, what i do know for SURE....:
The cells in your links could be used, i am 95% sure.
I spend a great deal of time with those vendors on aliexpress.
They have a 4 grade system:
1: new--->a grade or new grade
2: new?---> b grade..Confusedecond handed
3: b grade.....second handed..
4: resleav....second handed...

Needles to say that 3 and 4 are less cycles then they where original fabricated for!
2 can deal a good cycle...
1 is just as advertised in capacity and cycles....but look for BLS store, please......and not a pretender!

Dont fall for it, please dont, they can mix/match there old vehicle car cells or what ever telecom devices battery's to a "new" product.
Ect.

Google for BLS LiFePo4 they are the true manufacturer of those cells, and ask for NEW, A GRADE UNUSED CELLS!
Look always for a warranty sticker/seal and a trade mark, if it is not there, return and ask for a refund, no questions answered---->return money, simple......
Some stores pretend they are BLS or are resellers, and figure out there "customers" (those) internet links.....just saying

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/40001084...orV3O&mp=1

I assume 48v?

Maybe they can deliver a good deal?

Little bit more expensive but you are sure of the cycle count...up to 6000 at 80 DOD minimum....
With best regards Igor

Toke my a while sorry.
He tested the cells, take this and my knowledge into consideration, please.
He also tested the cells redpacket  was referring too
He made a lot of test vids, could not find the one in my memory that quick, sorry, no not a other one....this guy

With best regards Igor

Not sure the reasoning or how truthful but Winston seem to claim they have unusually high cycle counts.
At 80% DoD cycling, 3000 cycles seems more reasonable to degrade to 80% SoH.

Igor if you do find the video of testing the Frey Jaingsu cells, I'd like to watch that!

Sorry for the capital letters, i am i a little stress lately.
Anyway i think you mean those cells?
He did a number of video's on them, this is one of the first.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buNxclZixuU
Also interesting he is talking about a b c grade second handed ect:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5ABvbbics8

But he also never speaks of a cycle count, and i did not see him measure IR, or i looked over it

Winston gives warranty upto 4000 cycles with there bms is used in a ess, they have reports up to 8000 cycles.

With best regards, Igor
Those cells would be 10-15 years of age right now

Those look like really good cells. I'd buy some if I needed more!
Even though he mentions the larger size & weight, this is a good thing* & not a problem for solar storage systems.
* I'd rather cells were heavier than lighter, suggests better construction, more active material, etc.

go for bls ....a grade new...money wise...talk to them

money wise: if i understand it all correctly go for Nissan leaf, that would be better option in my opinion

Are these the same ones that Will Prowse gets all excited about?

Mine are similar to Will's ones I think - plastic cover a bit different.
