3D printer recommendations
#1
Hi everyone

I know a few of you have 3D printers and my wife is going to buy me one for my 50th birthday this year.
I have been looking at the ultimaker and was wondering if anyone had some other suggestions.
I have never used one before.

Cheers

OMG, Spooky or what, I will be 50 next week and guess what my Mrs is getting me for my birthday?

Not sure yet what it will be, but once I have it set up and working I'll let you know how I get on.

My wife bought me the Prusa mk3 s.
I really enjoyed putting it together and have spent the last week virtually printing non stop.
Very happy with it.

Got the printer (TronXY X3A with a few pending upgrades once I can print them) also enjoyed putting it together.

First few test prints to set it up went fine, started to print some battery mounts.
Three printed well so I set it up to do two at a time, left it to print while I was out, came home to a total mess on the print build plate due to a power cut halfway through the print.

After that nothing would print correctly, found that one of the Z axis motors had failed.
Replaced both of the motors and the printer is now operating correctly in all axis, however I am having an issue with the prints failing mid print.

The first layers print fine between a third to half of the print then the hotend starts to block in the tube just before the heater, not sure what's causing it.
I though maybe it was the filament I'm using but it was printing ok to start with so not sure.
