Hello all... I am building a 16s LifePo4 pack. I just finished it. I bought a BMS off ebay and it seems to work as advertised. I admit, I did not understand all the parameters until using it and then understanding it. This BMS starts trimming or burning 60ma above 3.5 volts per cell. There is a tiny LED light on the board for each cell that begins to light above 3.5 and gets brighter and brighter as the voltage raises. The top voltage seems to be 3.7-3.8 volts. I was hoping never to see the cells over 3.65 As the BMS is trimming, it gets pretty worm. Why introduce heat to the battery pack? Upon shutting the charger off, the cells drop to 3.4 after a little while. I believe the BMS is doing that. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced BMS for 16s LifePo4 where trimming is not the method to balance cells? Or does that not exist? I wish the BMS would let the cells come up to 3.65 and if there was a low cell, it would raise it. Thanks.
