Hi from Denmark.

2 years ago i did get solar on my roof, at that time i had no to littleknowledge about battery's and charging or storage of power.
6kW /24 panels facing west (which here in denmark is the worst way for placing panels)

my inverter from ABB does not support battery backup, but the plan now is to get 2-4 more panels up on my small shed, add a
small inverter from ebay/aliexpress and charge a small battery bank and run a load from there and to start with no more then 150-200watt in total, just to learn abit more about it.

Welcome and a good start.

Note that you have 6kW on the roof and not kWh :)

things have changed abit from the orginal plan.

to day i have picked up 2x SmartUPS APC3000 models, one with lead acid battery's and another with 10 new and never used 12v/7ah ups battery's - is was cheap, so i did it. (the video from AveRage Joe :
was the tipping point.

the plan is still to get a 20-30amp charge contoler from ebay og ali - but perhaps looking for something better mpp solar ? (advice)

In the meantime i may go backwards just for a small time and i may end up with 4x 12v 150ah AGM batteys for a start(or 8x12v 150ah - since i dont have enough 18650 cells to make 14s40p that i want to start with and then add more packs to capacity.

Solarpanels here in denmark is expensive 250watt panels is about 900DKK or 140-150 us dollar pr panel, some 200watt panels can be had for 130us (800 DKK)

Now i have to figure out if i can feed 200-300-400watt into my house along side with my grid tied inverter, would be nice to power the house in the night form the backup.
