Any hybrid inverters operate without batteries?

Does anyone know of a Hybrid (aka bimodal) inverter that can also operate as a stand alone grid tie inverter WITH NO BATTERIES?

To be clear, Im looking for a inverter that you could hook up for grid tied net metering alone (functioning like a standard string inverter), and then at a later date add your battery bank and critical load sub panel for back up.

Or in another scenario, say you had to disconnect your batteries for repair, could it still operate in a grid tie mode so that you are still selling back to the grid while your batteries are removed?

All the hybrid inverters I've looked at require batteries to operate in any mode.

The only one I've found (solar edge) ironically requires a very specific battery known as the "TESLA POWERWALL"

MPP MPI series works fine without batteries attached. I have at several times removed my bank to do maintenance without issues. It just switches over to grid.

I can do another test in 20-30 minutes or so and video it just to be sure it will start without batteries too...

Thanks so much for this video.

That is exactly what I want....You are lucky to have these available to you. Unfortunately in the US this would not be allowed to hook up to the grid, because it is not UL 1741 certified.

Thanks again for taking the time to make the video.
