Hi guys,

I need some help setting up the shunt trip on my system.

This is the shunt trip/ breaker I have

This is how my system is currently wired

There are 2 positive wires coming from the battery bank (inverter & charge controller).

The negative from the battery bank goes to the shunt, which also has negative wires from inverter and charge controller.

So should I run the 2 x positive and negative wires into some sort of combiner, then the single positive and negative into the breaker attached to shunt trip?

I know from Daniels vid the shunt trip needs to be after the watchmon.

This is probably simple stuff for most ofyou all but keeping in mind Ihad very little electronics knowledge prior to setting up this system 6 months ago. :)

This is how my system is currently wired, not the prettiest I know but it's working and I keep improving things as I go.

I hope that all makes sense

Did you watch Petes video about 6 months ago ( installing remote circuit breaker)? I'm guessing you did. He did an update showing how his was connected around 6 min 40 sec markIm trying to sort a shunt trip also. Can you help me? is the shunt trip serial or part number DTSHT 2460V? wasn't easy to find. Roughly how much?I was quoted around $135 ausfor the shunt. What is the Breaker serial or part number too please? Good luck in your question.

Hi,

Yep I watched Petes vid, my system is obviously a bit different to his but was still helpful!

Your'e right with the shunt model number and the price is about right also.

The breaker I chose was DINT10H280C. This is an 80 amp model I think Pete used the 100 or 125 amp model? In that case the last digits of the model number change accordingly.

I paid $265 for the CB.

Took me a lot of searching to track down these parts.

Hope that helps

Yes I saw that video.
Hopefully Jaron can respond or I will send him an email

The breaker should sit between the bank and the source/load. Though not sure what your question is? :)

battery bank < -> Breaker <-> Inverter/Charger/Load

Fuse

Watchmon

What can I say...I'm electronically challenged :p
I'm probably making it harder than it needs to be. I'll have another look thanks

Thanks mate
I guess my main question was around what is the best way of combining the charger and inverter wires to add to the breaker, maybe a terminal or ferrule that will fit both wires?

Hrmmm, looks an awful lot like the Star Trek Enterprise. Hrmmm..... ;)

Except the warp nacelle is pointed in the wrong direction

I did see this one.Great informative video. Did I hear you say you are doing another video of this or still testing. Looking forward to more nifty add ons to the Batriumtoo.
Can you give us a date on your Pi update release. 1 week 1month? Waiting with anticipation:)

Pi 4-5th of nov as it looks. Have been delayed a bit.

Yeah im waiting for some infor for updated version of the shunt on how to connect and then il upload it.

I connect my parts together with a normal lug. Ie 2 in and 1 out and then m8 bolt in middle :)
