Hey All,
I am trying to determine the best charging profile for my cells
I have 42 leaf modules in 14s6pconfiguration and keeping my cell voltages between 3.5 and 4.10 volts. Each cell is rated for 60Ah
My charger supports both bulk (constant current) and absorption (constant voltage) as well as float
I've read that you are to charge lithium ion at constant current till the voltage reaches the absorb voltage then switch to constant voltage till the current falls off
Problem is all I find about that is when charging them to 100% full at 4.2 volts - not much info when charging to a point less than that
What I am doing now is doing constant current till it reaches 4.10 volts per cell then switching over to absorb.. but the absorb cycle never seems to end! they just keep sucking it back. I'm afraid that I am just basically floating them at that point.. but maybe I am just not letting it run long enough?
I get out close to the same amp hours that I put in (around 18Kwh).. so I am pretty sure I am doing things right - maybe just not optimal..
What do you guys think - how do you charge your packs?
