I just found these Coleman 100w panels at my local Canadian tire. They come in a 2-pack (200w total) for $349 Cdn. ($260US)

I browsed around online but with shipping to Canuckistan it was always higher. So I pulled the trigger. I could buy more if they are a steal but I'd have to do it soon.

I have a couple of those BAE-200 packs already pulled apart and thought I'd give it a try on some of my lighter loads in my house.

Thoughts? I'd appreciate knowing if I just threw money out the window.
Cheers, and thx

I have the coleman 40w panels and they Suck. after 1 year I'm only getting 20Watts per panel and being 12V panels they have poor performance. I would not buy them again. Have a look in kijiji or look at getting pallets shipped from Canadian solar

Going by jdeadman, since you already bought one set, try to get your money back.

Those low Voc are advertised as being designed for battery charging applications, and though that's what most here will be using them for, I would hope by now folks will have realised that due to the fair greater efficiency a MPPT charger combined with high Voc panels aimed at GT applications are the way to achieve high outputs.

I suspect those panels are usually purchased by folks with caravans who assume they need a 12v panel to charge their 12v starter battery, combined with a PWM charger the output/ will be almost pointlessly low.

Get your money back.

Thanks a lot guys. I'm returning them tomorrow!

I'm glad I asked the community.

Cheers!

Im not sure about where you are but there is a lot of 2nd hand panels in Aus.

I just picked up 12 of 250W panels with racking for Aus $70 per panel, ~US $50.
