I've plugged my battery into this inverter for the fist time and i'm getting this error code. It's a continuous beep and the unit shuts off after about 10 seconds.

It is a second hand machine, so has been set up before. I bought it from Conversol so I don't know what its last configuration was.

The manual says Error code 81 is "Host Data Loss", but I don't know what that means.

Anyone any idea? What is the host? Is it the computer with WatchPower on it? Or perhaps this unit was running in parallel and is expecting to see the first inverter in the string. There is no parallel card installed now, but there could have been one but removed.

My battery is at 58V and all connections are good after checking several times.

I'm reluctant to keep playing with things without asking first, because frankly, I'm scared of breaking it

Yes this error only appears explained in parallel guide so must be related with it.

There you have manual for parallel commissioning, maybe you can reverse the process.

If a non parallel unit shows 00 on screen after pressing enter button for 3 seconds before paralleling I think 00 must be non parallel mode instead of 28, SL, PAL or watever it shows.

Thank you kind sir!

That first link was just what I needed. It's out of parallel mode now. It had to be done on the inverter itself. WatchPower couldn't restore default settings.

Many Many Thanks!
