Hello ill put here all my stuff in like requestet in the FB group.

I recycled 630 Laptop Batteries and got 12 kwh capacyty out.

A few month ago i made how i celect the good from the bad cells.

This was my test setup... at the end i gave a short view where the journey should go to.

Since October 2016 im at the next waypoint. Solar power inverter communicates with the grid electric meter and the Battery grid inverter.
The batterie inverter is only connectd to one phase but can accommodate over all three up to 3.4 kw.

In the next view Days ill install Stage 3 witch will add 4 kwh capacity and enable the system to run 100% power 3,4 kw charge from solar and 3,4 kw discharge to my home if needed. At the moment i limited to 2,5 kw charge and discharge. this prevents the cells to get hot. The highest Temperature i have seen was 27 degree. In theory this hybrid setup will make my house independent from grid from March to September.

Here a short view to the setup

Here are more details to the GTI

SMA Sunny Island

and the no up to 16sBMS from REC

REC BMS

In the Cabinet i have space for one more 4kwh upgrade to 16 kwh.

The efficiency i calculated is 79,5 %. This Solar Panlel DC -> GTI -AC -> Battery GTI -> AC -> Battery DC , Battery DC -> house AC is not perfect but for me the best way to go.

One day, REC BMS will be in my battery shed...

And then it didn't lol

Looks good!.
But 12kWh? out of 630 cells? how? From what I can see you have 8x6packs =48cells /pack
in a 14s configuration at 48cells / pack that would be 672 cells.
You would need 5000mAh /cell to reach 12kWh total.

What am I missing?

He said 630 laptop batteries, so maybe 630x6 cells average. This is more than 27kWh so yes, in any case something is wrong with the math.

ahh yes, laptop batteries true.
He got 12kWh usable out of all of those. That makes sense. about 40% good cells.
