Darfon EIA02 possibly the same as growatt SP2000
#1
Hi everyone, just stumbled upon this site trying to find out some information, I managed to acquire a Darfon EIA05 battery which possibly has a faulty bms on it, However i am struggling to find this out.

I bought a sofar solar ME3000, but my problem is i have no idea which of the pins on the RJ45 connector on the battery i need for an RS485 connection to battery, so i am on here in the hope that someone else has been in a similar situation to me and somehow has managed to find out what pin is what.

Thanks for reading my post.

I have a little used SP2000 and Darfon/Growatt cobranded 4.? kWh battery - purchased as faulty. The simple fix was to charge one section of the battery using an external source, the BMS had gone into a self protect mode that it was unable to self recover from.

Are you expecting to link the Sofar controller with the Growatt battery ?

Have you checked the health of the battery (cover off)

I suspect the Sofar wont be compatible, but a safe test would be to see if you can get the flaky Growatt software to talk to the Sofar controller before you attach the battery (via the Anderson style connection)

So this battery is not growatt branded it was originally supplied with a solax inverter, I only mentioned the sp2000 as i have installed these and they do look very similar.

I have checked all 14 packs there are all within the 3.7 something voltage range i have been charging this battery over the last couple of days, with a variable dc power supply and have manged to push just over 3kwh into the thing, however while doing so the BMS kept kicking disconnecting the charger every so often not too sure why? maybe because it expects to see a controller talking to it?

The reason why i choose the sofar solar controller was because i believe it is compatible with the battery, The battery is even listed in the controller as a pre configured choice.

Now not knowing what the pins are on the rj45 connector on the battery is one of my main issues as i have no way of knowing how to wire the controller and battery together.

Then the other issue is the BMS itself the light goes from green to red periodically, I was hoping to find someone with some manuals on these things to help me diagnose things easier, I think i am going to try contacting the manufacturer to see if they have and old manuals etc they could forward onto me.
