I'm attempting to charge some cells which have been tested previously and reported approx 2400maH. 2 cells in a batch of about 120 tested @ 0v and wont charge. Anyone offer any clues on what may have happened. These were in my good cell pile and just been sitting for a few months.
Anyone experienced something similiar?

Self discharges? Then they will dimp down and its just a matter of binning them :)

If you want to try to get them going for 2nd test you need to bump em

I had that as well, about two cases amongst several hundred good cells. Seems like it happens occasionally. Obviously something went wrong, just throw them away.

Bin for sure but did you voltage test them a couple weeks after the initial testing? I'm thinking they would have showed up as self-dischargers then wouldn't they?

Not always. I've hadca few, like Alan, that have had the initial testing and seem like good cells, then for no apparent reason show 0 volt. I'm usually thankful it happened before they are built into a pack ;)

Yeah I've been testing mine after a week and then another week later. There are always a few still discharging after a couple weeks. I can't wait for 4 weeks like some people.

I generally get 1% of all cells that fail down to 0 when I start building. So its nothing strange with it :p

I had cells like this too ..
I had like several cells that .. i did start the charging .. everything went ok .. no heat no nothing .. and after like halp hour .. TP4056 just showed full (no red blinking) , but when i test them .. 0V.. i don't get it how :)

i have like maybe 10 or 20 cells that are revived from 0V or 0-0.05V to fully functional .. 2200mAh+ cells and with no discharge whatsoever ... they where siting like a month .. and are 4.15+V

so not 0V cells are bad ;) if you have a time to play .. you may :)

If the cell goes instant to 0V when charging then the cells is very bad because it just triggered the CID. BIN
