Why? Because I use my 0pus-BT charging station in charge-test mode. that mode will -> Charge -> Discharge -> Charge.
Does it hurt the cells? I don't think that.
Does the heat from solder hurt the cells? Depends. Im using a huge soldering iron so i dont apply heat more than for 2-3 seconds. And measuring the cell they dont even get slightest hot.
Could i have done it different? Yes i could but this was simple and it works.
Fully charged 4.2v, same reason as daromer. The chargers do charge > discharge > charge. Soldering iron touches for less than half a second, it's literally instantaneous, don't think charge matters.
From a safety standpoint discharged would be better, that being said most of my soldering has been on charged cells. Up until now charging has gone much faster and more conveniently for me than discharging so once cells got charged they stayed that way for the most part until I did something with them such as solder them into a pack.
