Ah, I understand now.  Let us know how you get on.

I am in the US and we have split phase power, 2 power lines, 120v and -120v essentially. Let's say 45% of the house is on 1 line, 45% is on the other line, and 10% uses 240v by using both lines. So the gtil2 with 1 current sensor only sees half the power usage. So I took 2 "sct013 100a/50ma" sensors and connected them in parallel. It works. I haven't found any mention of anyone else using dual current sensors but I imagine many people need this. I run them through 2 pairs in a cat5 wire around 40 feet. I might want to do this wirelessly.

I am interested in reading and configuring the gtil2 remotely without purchasing the wifi device. I have done a bit of programming with esp32's but haven't tried reading the modbus yet. I saw mention of reading and writing the lcd but didn't see details. Maybe that is just reading the output lcd bits and simulating key presses? I saw info about hooking up a pot to an additional connector inside. That sounds interesting.

Interesting result and proof of operation, nice post.
"sensors and connected them in parallel. It works." If this is using the remote box then it should work ok for the 240V balanced loads, becuase of how the output signal controls the GTIL output. Where any separate line is out of balance it may cause issues (excess on one line and a deficit on the other), otherwise it should provide a reasonable result.

Yes I have one and have successfully installed it on my Split phase 220 system.
I found these upgraded cable coils on ebay so that it would monitor both legs of my grid power L1 and L2.  https://www.ebay.com/itm/Upgraded-cable-...2749.l2649

I also got the WiFi unit and after learning chinese (just kidding) I do have a computer background I got the unit to work and it transmits my plant info every 5 min to a data collection center which I can access at www.shinemonitor.com and can see what I am producing.
The neat thing about this unit is that lets say my house needs 1000 watts of power the Cable Coils will tell the GTIL what is coming from the grid and will produce up to the throttled amount 900 watts (I have mine throttled at 900 watts) and the grid is now only supplying me with 100 watts through the meter effectively cutting my electrical consumption. Also if my house only needs 500 watts than the GTIL will produce that and effectively stall the grid meter which is just drawing 5 to 7 watts just to let the grid company know i'm still here. It does not feed the grid hence those of us with "Smart Meters" don't  get penalized. It also automatically throttles down as the voltage of my now 6 month old newly antiquated flooded cell battery bank goes below a safe discharge voltage and wakes back up as soon as my panels start producing amperage. Once my flooded cell system is replaced by a Li system (after harvesting 2000 to 3000 cells that I will need) I can then dial it in to use more power from my panels and use the cell storage at night so I don't have to worry about killing my flooded pain in the rear picky lead acid batteries.

Pictures and wiring diagrams attached. Let me know if you have any questions.
Picture of GTIL is before I tweaked the throttle. Notice it was producing 984.8w and grid supplemented with 116w.

If 18 X 650 = 2000+mAh then we have power!

Hello All,

I am myself in the process of re-wiring my solar grid-tie setup now that I have two sun-1000g2 240v grid tie inverters.

That dual cable looks interesting anyone know hows its wired to read off both legs of a 240v line? I have two inverters and two of the limiter cables. One of my inverters doesn't need to be limited so I can try to cut and splice the other limiter clamp for the primary inverter. Do you think its just series or parallel wired inside the cable and with or without resistance/capacitance modifications?
