This guy is fast becoming another of my fav tubers..

'get it' is subjective, we always 'had it'

besides, who watches tv now anyway ?

Who mentioned "now"

What else was there to watch in 1988 ........

Transformers!!! Ok, now back on topic! Wouldn't it be cool to put these solar roadways on back roads? All the downsides to what he is talking about in the video would be at the least lessened on a less traveled road with a powerpack on the end. Less traffic means less wear on the surface, more time in the sunlight, nearby battery for storage. Of course efficiency is the main concern when thinking of "new improved" versions on any technology, but this is exactly why SciFi is so popular. Love the idea!!! But never hold my breath about whether it's really possible or not.

Biggest downside to solar roads, cycle paths, crappy art installations, is simple.
It's a lot cheaper just to mount the solar panels on someone's roof, plus you get more power as they are properly orientated to face the sun.

Less travelled roads tend to be dirtier, as less cars to blow the dust from the road surface.

EEVBlog has several videos on why solar roadways are a scam, they work but as still a waste of money.

Don't disagree, I think the 'Idea' is great but we live in the real world and in the real world solar farm in a field would be money better spent. Fully Charged is a great channel with well-presented content.
