GEN2 Leaf modules

Hello all,

I just received 42 Gen2 leaf battery modules

Does anyone know how much I need to compress them?

I got the packs individually (loose) but from the same car. I do not have any of the threaded rods that hold them together

I know they need to be somewhat compressed together but I am not sure how much.

Does anyone have any experience with them? I am compressing them between 2 flat steel plates with 4 threaded rods

I would suggest lightly snug, no more, or you'll risk displacing the paste in the cells.
You probably should put some extra insulation, eg Fibreglass PCB material between the metal & the cells.
One of the builders on the site shared pics of their build with end plates, rods & small springs I think to allow for thermal expansion/contraction & more constant pressure (sorry, can't remember the link..!).
