Hi All,

I'vebeen on this site for a few weeks now, reading, learning, shamelessly stealing ideas :p
Figured I was about time I saidhi !!

Many years ago, I found Jehu's "eSamba" YouTube videos, but alas a DIY EV wasn't an option at the time. Fast forward a few years, andfor what ever reason there is no power or lights in the garage where I'm now living. Power cableshave been run to it prior to us moving in, but no other infrastructure has been installed. Given I'm another geeky IT nerd who's not afraid to dabble with electronics, designing my own off-grid solution to get some LED lights running seems like the obvious choice with the option toexpand as more cells become available.

I've been slowly collecting 18650's since then, but didn't really have any set plan form them until now. So far I'veonly got150 or so cellsthat I've been able to recover from old laptop batteries that were going to end up in e-waste at work, or that mates have kept some for me.I'm just starting to test these now,and have updated theCell Counter with TESTED cells, but will continueupdating it as Itest my remaining cells.

Thinking of 7S (24v)for now, with as many "p" as I can manage with my meagre collection, and something fairly modular soI can grow thingsas I findmore cells (still on the look out for a reliable local source - fingers crossed).

I've now spent WAY to many hours watching PowerWallYouTube videos and reading all the build threads here. I'll start my own build thread once I know what good cells I've got, and once I've settled on a design ... my design seems to evolveevery time I read a new thread and getnew ideas !!

Cheers,
J.
