Hi all,

My name is Cdric, I live in the north of France.

I started solar a year ago in 11/2016 with two 20w panels, a cheap (but very good imo) Wincong 10A pwm charge controller and two little Yuasa NP7-12 batteries, just to try and see... (now it's in the shed for kid's scooters batteries, IR projectors, water pumps or other needs).

Now, I run my laptop everyday, my "lab" lights and sometimes tv on 4 115Ah LA batteries, 4 100w panels and a 40A MPPT charge controller.

As a vaper I already was in 18650s and became more and more inspired byPeter's, Daniel's, Paul's, Joe's and many other's youtube channels for building my own powerwall. So thank you very much guys for the knowledge and the cool and fun moments I spent watching your videos.

The next step for me is to build a Paul Kennett powershelves style powerwall. I will detail my journey in a new thread in the DIY powerwall builds section and perhaps a youtube channel to share my experiences on this media.

Thank you very much for reading and see you on the next post!

Welcome to this wonderfull forum.
Bienvenue et coucou depuis la Lozere.

Thank you Cristof for welcoming me!
It's funny, I was just reading your powerwall thread, thinking "hey! other french guys here!!!", Nice start of cells collection by the way, I'm having a harder time to find used laptop packs, most of the one I have were my own, maybe like Wim my powerwall will be from new cells.
Thanks again, I'll follow you with interest, see you soon on the forum...

Hi Cdric,
good luck for used 18650 laptop batery pack.....
If you have a good "PLAN" for new one, let me know....
A plus.

Did you have to pay extra custom taxes ?

No I didn't, for both 2x8 packs ordered separately and a 40 pack. My 2nd 40 pack is on the way to France, I'll let you know about this one but I think it will be ok. It is a standard China post shipment, not like via UPS or DHL

Those cells are realy not expensive. Are they original New SAMSUNG.
They are branded EAIEP. Aren't they 2nd hand ?

2nd hand I don't think so. Not sure how samsung or lg produce their cells but my thought is that they use subcontractors, big factories that produce the cells for them and some are destined for various markets and usages like commercial or industrial. For some reason the label may be slightly different. I've also seen liitokala cells that are in fact lg or samung cells. A part of these, maybe an excess of production or the bad one or whatever, is sold on aliexpress to flow the stocks

Hi,
I have seen this morning that they do no ship to France. How did you received them ?

Hi Cristof,
When I ordered my first batteries, shipping to France was still available on this store. Now I order it on another store (first link), the price is the same and there is no country restrictions. For how long? I don't know, I hope they won't do the same because I need some time to afford it.

Hi Cdric,
I have ordered a few battery (your link) from aliexpress.
I will test them.
Do you have your own feedback about them ?

Hi Cristof,
I have a very little experience with these cells as for the moment I've only capacity processed 56 of them with 1 Liitokala Lii500 charger, it is a bit long. The results I have are between 2673mAh and 3002mAh but the Lii500 discharge the cells down to 2,8v witch is a bit too low imo. The default setting of my b6 charger is set to 3,1v witch more realistic to a normal use but it would take too long to do 1 by 1 cell. Also there is poor contacts on the Lii500 and the spings do not tie up the cell firmly so these numbers give just an idea. I saw you opened a thread about the EAIEP cells, I will post a little review this evening. ;-)
