New to this forum,
but not entirely new using a Solar powered battery bank.

I went another road, using second life phev Mitsubishi Outlander li-ionbatteries.
I used theYuasa LEV40 cells, and build a 72kw 1280Ah 56,25 nomV battery
The prismaticcells are 40Ah eachin a32P 15S configuration,
a numberthat nicely matched 6 cars, I was able to source on scrapyards in our tiny country and the UK
System runs on a SMA Sunny Island 8.0 inverter/charger, SMA energymeter + 14.2kw peak Ciggs solarplant with 3-phase Goodwe inverters
The BMS I use is from REC d.o.o.

At the time I was not aware of Batrium, actually the very reason for joining this forum.
Very interested in the exchange of knowledge around the Batrium bms, as I plan to make another battery bank.

with regards
Carel

Nice setup m8! Very nice setup on the batteries!

Very very nice setup... SMA...that is theexpencive stuff... like it :)

Is it for business (back up) use or at your home?

Wow that's bloody neat! love it & welcome

Thanks for the "welcome",

end of 2014
Started out reading a German forum:https://www.photovoltaikforum.com/
and especially this thread from Trond from Norway, using Nissan Leaf batteries
https://www.photovoltaikforum.com/s...attery-in-an-sunny-island-setup--t102414.html

It gave me an idea, if Trond could make it work, even in Norway, why not me in the Netherlands.
So I went out there to source EV + PHEV's, certainly a different roadmap than collecting second-life 18650 laptop cells.

Both scenario's are successful:
using reclaimed 18650 is category good + cheap (cheap meaning labour/time intensive),
whereas reclaimed ev/phev li-ion batteries falls into the category good+fast (fast meaning less labour/time, but expect it to be not so cheap...)

My solar array + ESS powers the house + workshop, nearly all electric,
but for heating ( now natural gas).
Plan is to replace the central gas-heating system with a heat-pump system.

(Daniel, Darometer, completely off-topic, but there must a lot of heat-pumps around in Sweden.. help needed here)

I shot some more pic's of the ESS

thanks for the warm welcome

regards Carel

Hello Daniel,

Thanks for the reply,
I run a small business, self employed one man company, with tax number.

I'm used to import goods,
If you could help me to some web based wholesale companies in Sweden that sell Nibe heat-pumps.
I've used pricerunner.se, but have the feeling I'm not getting deep enough into the distribution chain.

Prices over here in the Netherlands are over the top. 40% higher than price runner...

thanks in advance

regards
Carel
