Often will go to the Cell Database, sort by wrap color, and then try to match the insulator color.

Correct sometimes there is nothing engraved on the Sanyo cells. Sometimes it is so faint though you need a 1 million candlepower searchlight and the Hubble telescope to find it.
If you look at the positive contact on your cell see if it has 6 legs or 3 legs. That's how you tell the difference between the UR18650F and the UR18650RX as the wrap and ring insulators arethe same color.
