You'd think that would be crazy right...2 weeks after ordering I still dont have the goods, and I was told this morning when I called they were still on the way. Huh

With recent design changes came more trench digging... which I had hoped was far behind me from previous conduit installs.

Lesson here... put in enough conduit capacity for double what you will need right now. Because trust me, something will come up later and you will need the capacity.

So this time I installed 40mm conduit, which I hope will be... yes, I know will be the last time I dig another trench Angry

Some snaps of the fun times...

Next... I have the joy of boring holes in the brick wall for the corrugated solar conduit, and mounting the combiner box on the wall.

The DC side of things is starting to come together... If only I didn't have to work, things would go a lot faster. Maybe a career in YouTube videos to fund my crazy ideas Huh Nah, already been done Sad

Anyway, here's the latest instalment Smile

Finally hooked up the Victron MultiGrid to the DC busbars...

Question: I need to complete the AC cabling between the MultiGrid and offgrid AC distribution board... apparently I need to use some flexible AC cable with active, neutral, and earth, any suggestions?

And finalised commissioning the fiber optic cabling to the house (yes fiber)...

And the journey continues Tongue

Flexible Cable = Welding Wire. It has LOTS of strands to make it super flexible.

Hi Korishan... thanks for commenting. Not sure welder cable would do the job here, working on the assumption of the welding cables I've used which are single conductor.

I'd say it would need to be a flexible AC rated cable with active, neutral, and earth under a single sheath. I probably didn't ask my question correctly, as I was really wanting to know what size conductors I would require in the cable to ensure it could handle the load.

Not sure what welding cable you're looking at, but this is the stuff I'm talking about:

That's 2awg Lincoln Electric Multistranded Welding Cable

Christmas came early with the delivery of my Mitsubishi i-MiEV battery pack full of YUASA LEV50N cells... woo hoo!!

I have put together a video of harvesting the cells, and will add a link here once it's uploaded to YouTube.

Hi Cam, I suspect you might be on the ball with sourcing from Bunnings. Thanks for the tip, I will take a look.

As per the advice from Cam, below is what I believe is required.

What's your inverter max rating ?

That 3c flex looks rather slender - how are you tying in the inverter output to your existing house electrics (if at all) ?
