How to open a Dyson battery pack?

Hi guys. BlueSwordM again, I know.
So, when I went to the Home Depot to ask if I could take batteries, they of course, let me, and I found 4 Dyson Battery packs.
According to their specifications, they had 6x2800mAh high drain batteries, and they were 20A each! So an excellent find, a really great one.
So the only problem is, as you could probably guess, is that it's almost impossible to open. There's only a video that a fellow Quebecker made, but it doesn't detail anything.

Here's a picture of it, as the rest are in storage, and I'm too lazy to search through the mess inside my garage.

And another.

Takes awhile, but he finally gets it open.

That's the guy I was talking about. Ugh. If I could get it open, I could actually either do a giveaway here, or sell them for a pretty penny, as I'm now saving money to buy a nice spot welder.

All he did was take a screw driver and pry under the edges till it popped. You could probably take a hair dryer or heat gun and heat the plastic up around the seams to soften it up to aid in the prying process. They are sonicly welded, so you may need to apply the heat to it.

Oh sonic welds. This takes me back to the trauma that are HP Battery packs. Thanks for the advice. I'm going to try and post back.

They are a royal PITA to open, I've only had one of those so far

You can use old credit cards in USA they have enough off them;P and slide it between the parts on both sides. Then you have too use two flat screwdrivers at the side and pop it open.

If you want too use them i don't think they are good enough because they are (abused?) at high amp discharge.

If you want too replace the batteries, I tried but it didn't works for me. The chip me bye was defect?

I don't want to replace the batteries though. I want them, as they probably can still handle 15A discharge, I want them in my DIY drill, and sell/giveaway the rest of them 18650s.

All the above are great ideas. You could also use a dremel and cutoff wheel and gently cut the plastic loose.

yeah dyson's are high quality construction all the way through. getting the case off was just the start. Next you have to contend with the heavy duty nickel strips and battery holder as well. i learned the hard way to wear leather gloves on the pack i took apart.

*snip snip* on the nickle to save fingers
