Hi guys,

i'm reading this forum for about 3-4 month and this is my first post.

I'm an IT engineer, a teacher (safety,IT,school).

I'm trying to build a customizable top balancer (passive/burning)

I'm trying to start a new businnes with 18650 used cells.

I'm going to buy (if i can) 60k cells to test, and then sell them to EU market.

If i'm lucky, i've found 10k/15K lifepo4 too.

I hope to write here soon.

Have a nice day

I do believe that energy storage and related marketsare going to rise and Li-ion and Na-ion in future are the obvious means to that. Would love to start a business on this but earning what i do would be difficult on short term.

That means getting feetwet and just about it.

Having said that, bloody hell. My welcome onboard. Looking forward to your experiences.

This isn't my first job atm. I'm only looking if this can be a good business or not.

I'm trying step by step to buy every time bigger quantity.

Atm i have a report on 1200 good cells sold made on some FB post and other Italian forum.

I didn't mean it that way either.. I've been in programming business for 18 years and mortgage + kids mean a steady supply of money.

I'm keeping an eye out on business front but sourcing cells is harder than i imagined.

Hi Emuland,
I'm Italian too and I know Emuland, known on a forum in Italy.
He gave me some good directions and I'm studying the thing in my spare time.
Then I arrived here.
He was very friendly in the forum where I met him.

The world is small with internet :)

I'm an Italian teacher too from Biella, ciao Emuland.

Oh boy, and I thought the 60 cells in my possession were a lot! :exclamation:

Well, while I'm an enthusiast for lithium cells (be them Li-ions or LiFe), I'm cautious about seeing them as an investment: as a matter of fact I consider them "a great thing for the present", but not "the future at all".
Lithium is too scarce on the planet's surface to become a reliable source for power storage before it depletes.

It's just a personal of course- I wouldn't be here if I weren't so fond of this technology!

Cheers

For your information as far as lithium scarcity is concerned, I would not worry about running out for a while.
Quote:
The U.S. Geological Survey produced a reservesestimateof lithium in early 2015, concluding that the world has enough known reserves for about 365 years of current global production of about 37,000 tons per year (Figure 1). Current production goes to a little over one-third for ceramics, almost one-third for batteries, and miscellaneous uses for the last one-third. The same report finds about 39.5 million metric tons of resources, which is a less firm category than reserves. "Resources" include supplies that could feasibly be extracted economically at some point in the future, whereas reserves estimates refer to current economic viability.
