Looking for an inverter, and all I can find are cheap ones from China via ebay. I have no idea if these are any good so I thought I would ask for recommendations.

I know I want between 500w to 1000w and something that accepts 24v as I believe that this will make the conversion more efficient and suitable for a 7s 18650 pack. A USB port would also be nice. Any recommendations?

I bought 3 different "Reliable" converters - e.g. cheap!!!. One blew when I hooked ground to the house ground and one blew under load (that should not have blown). I still have a 24v@1500 watt in use in my home-grown portable 'yeti' power-pack.

For powering the hosue I switched to AIMS Inverters - first a 48v@2,000watt and then a 48v@12,000 watt. They are on the cheaper end and manufactured in China (I believe) BUT for me the price is good and they have both worked flawlessly. They have a 24v@1500watt -https://www.aimscorp.net/1500-Watt-24-Volt-Pure-Sine-Inverter.html

Note: I have no stake in AIMS, not pushing it, just sharing that they have been satisfactory for me is you want something on the cheaper end.

Right now Banggood have a promotion sale for Chang inverters. A 3 Kw model can be had for $259.

They are marked 6000w, but thisis the Chinese way of boosting the specs.

I own a 4000w model, and it delivers the expected 2 KW and have now worked flawlessly for 8 Months. Build quality is surprisingly clean, all internal wiring is laid out neatly and no patchwork (last minute mods) are visible.

Only mod I recommend is to reverse the 2 cooling fans so they blownice cold air into the casing, not expelling the hotair.

My 4000w model draws .8 Amps , with no load.

I generally stay away from the bottom barrel crap box inverters.

Ive been curious to try an AIMS inverter because the price is tempting and I see some positive things out there about it too.

That said, If I am buying for anything that matters, I stick with brands like Victron, Schnider, Xantrex, Magnum, Outback, Midnite companies with proper support.

Here are a couple sites you can browse around in and find some new names to consider. It really just comes down to your budget and the features you need.
