So, today, I looked at my subscription feed, and I saw Jehu's video:

And apparently, he was banned from live streaming to Youtube from a copyright strike by listening bots to a private video.

I would advise supporting Jehu Garcia by going to the Twitch link to watch his livestreams:

Also, perhaps, you could follow this guy's advice:

Xavier Ancarno:
We can help Jehu, those who use Twitter send a tweet at Ben @TrustedFlagger hes part of the YT moderation/flagging team Stay courteous and polite he helped unbanned and remove unfair strikes from others livestreamer channels?

I hope he'll be able to get back up, and help him out if you can!

Yeah, kinda sux that he got banned for a "private" test stream. Stupid bots.

But, as I mentioned over on his channel, I won't be joining Twitch. So, the only way I'd get to watch his streams is if he posts it to the YT afterwards.

First someone already too my user name. :s
Secondly it's another site I'd need to monitor
Third I don't want to have to deal with ads or anything else that might be there. Linus Tech Tips is leaving Twitch due to forced ads and such. Youtube is bad enough
Forth, I'm sure I'll figure something else to complain about :p

I suggested that in his comments of that video. He hasn't responded to it, so not sure what his thoughts are on it.

Im a bit torn on the subject I like the guy and his content enough to want to support him, but he would be the only person on Twitch I would be following.

Its an inconvenience because for the little time I do have for TV and media (I dont even have cable/dish), I like to spend it on YouTube catching up with all the subscriptions I already have. There is enough content on there that I think it would be safe to say that the people I subscribe to are literally fighting for my time because I cant watch all of it.

What blows my mind is the inability or lack of support from the YouTube end to get things like this resolved? Im more curious as to why he got banned, was he just listening to music in the background and the bots banned him for copyright stuff? I really wish Jehu could just appeal the decision and get back to business on YouTube.

Yes, it was playing in the background. Either the radio/cell was on, or was playing through the computer speakers. It's not like he was trying to put that song on without giving credit. It was just background noise, sort of speak.
But, at the same time, it's possible he had it playing pretty loudly (not saying that is an excuse for the bots, but still).

I do hope it gets resolved. I hate to see anyone get banned for something so stupid. Especially when it was a test live stream and was broadcasting to no one as it was a private video. So, don't upload any videos that might have music in the background even under the private section. *sigh*

It sure appears that YouTube is trying as hard as it can to drive content creators away. Also viewers, the ads drive me nuts. Especially because they are unpleasantly loud, when a users video is a little on the quiet side.

That's why I have adblockers for YT (sorry Pete, but I can't have ads randomly popping up, especially audible ones). I use Adblock for Youtube for Chrome. Works really well. I haven't seen an ad in over a year.

Don't use AdBlockPlus.

Use Ublock Origin instead. It's open source, unlike AdBlock Plus, and has better performance and blocks more ads.

I disable ads per site, meaning Youtube and most forums I join, I just whitelist the sites.

Yes this!!! I have heard rumours in the background of Adblock selling user info. Not for sure but they do allow advertisers to unblock certain sites/ads for money (and that they say are "safe")
