Lattepanda/win10/wm4 remote monitoring...

I got my 3g modem all sorted in my powershed, got my lattepanda running the watchmon suite and got it pushing stats to my thingspeak account.

All works fine until the damn lattepanda decides to reboot on an update (I assume it's an update that's causing the reboots)... I've got the watchmon suite in the startup folder, that seems to work ok...

What I'm getting at is, anyone got experience of making win10 not reboot on updates?

Or, can I get the wm4 to push the stats to the thingspeak server without needing the lattepanda running?

Can I ask why not use Linux? Anyways, if you had to go Windows, I found this on a quick search...

How to stop your PC from automatically restarting after installing updates
Important: Before proceeding note that this is a workaround not supported by Microsoft, and it can stop working at any time. You should use it at your own risk.

Open Start.
Search for Task Scheduler and click the result to open the tool.
Right-click the Reboot task and select Disable.

Once you completed the steps, your device will no longer restart after downloading and installing new updates. However, new updates won't apply, and future updates won't install until you manually reboot your computer.

Additional steps (if needed)

In the case, Windows 10 automatically re-enables the Reboot task; you can stop this behavior by doing the following:

Use the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command.
Type the following path and click OK:

%windir%\System32\Tasks\Microsoft\Windows\UpdateOrchestrator

Select the Reboot file without an extension, right-click it, and select Rename.

Rename the Reboot file to Reboot.old.
Right-click inside the folder, select New, and click on Folder.

After you've completed the steps, Windows 10 will no longer be able to re-create the task to reboot your computer automatically.

If you want to revert the changes, go back to the UpdateOrchestrator folder and delete the Reboot folder and rename the Reboot.old file back to Reboot.

Then follow the Task Scheduler steps mentioned above but on Step 3 select Enable.

Note: We're not saying that you should skip installing updates, as they're important to keep your device secure and up to date. However, there are scenarios where you make want to take full control and decide exactly when to restart your computer to apply new updates, and this is when knowing how to stop automatic reboots comes in handy.

Another option is to go into Services and turn OFF Windows Update Service. Then just manually run the update from time to time. If the system is not open to the internet, it doesn't need to autoupdate when ever it decides to.
Now, this won't completely shut off the updates, as if there is a major update (like a patch to a security hole that allows someone to control the computer) windows will still update.

I turn off all updating on my tablet and run it manually as I often will tether off my phone. I don't need updates downloading over my cell connection. I do the updates manually from time to time at home off my wifi.

I used to have my thing speek hooked directly into my wm1 but havn't tested configuration for wm4 -

The Batrium Watchmon software is Windows only...

I think on the wm4 it needs the watchmon software running, at least that's my understanding from reading into it.
