We aren't mining Bitcoin. We're mining ETC/ETH, which can only be done with GPUs. ASICs don't exist for those algorithms. They are designed specifically so that ASICs can't (at least not easily) be built for them.

That's unfortunate considering how much more powerful ASIC's are compared to CPU's/GPU's. I was considering getting a single ASIC for mining Bitcoin based on the efficiency alone but I'm not really attached to crypto-currencies.
