Wow!!! I started using them a few days ago to help learn about cryptocurrencies. I guess I won't be continuing to use them now.

The wallet that now houses the crypto's opened the wallet @2017-12-06 00:07:06. https://bitinfocharts.com/bitcoin/address/1EnJHhq8Jq8vDuZA5ahVh6H4t6jh1mB4rq

10 minutes after opening it went from 0.01 BTC to+4,655.25349748 BTC. NiceHash just did a maintenance on the 5th. I find it quite interesting that there was maintenance done, then a few days later they were hacked. Sounds like an inside job to me. But, that's a conspiracy theory :p

I feel sorry for anyone who had any amount of coins in NiceHashes wallet. I hope you didn't loose too much; as it might be that you won't get any back :s

Good to see they are paying everyone back, my 22 bucks will be all MINE again ... if i mine with them again till i get to a payout value

LOL I didn't have very much in mine when they got hacked. I think they'll be ok now, and like you, Pete, I went back with them. Firstly, they run on my hardware, old as it is. I'll be upgrading hardware next year (as in, a few months away). Secondly, it's easy to use. Easier than Minergate, imho. At least it does benchmarking and selects the type of cryto that works with your hardware the best (or, at least, it gives that illusion).

So we'll see how things progress :)

Guess I should put my wallet address in my sig as well ;)

i encouraged the use of minergate at first, it is very easy but hash rate is crap compared to ethOS or many others- then you start to do some reading and everyone calls them scammers skimming off the top!

I also found that Minergate was bogging my system down when I was using it. I had to really throttle it back to do much of anything. With NiceHash, I can still work while it's running and I don't notice much, except when I watch youtubes and Chrome doesn't have the focus anymore. The video gets all sputtery and jittery. I hope to upgrade my video cards soon.

to mine i would never use my workstation when in use... slows way too much

well, currently I don't have much of a choice. I need to get some more gear. I leave the computer on 24/7, it might as well do some work for me when I'm not using it (plus help warm the house). I have 2 computers with pitiful specs, but better than nothing. Right now it's just a learning phase before I get more expensive hardware.

Don't quote me but i think here is smart 'ish' mining software that'll only mine when the computer is idle?

I had the same problem. For Claymore miners, which you should be using..., you can add parameter -di 1 to indicate only mine on the 2nd card. The first card, presumably GPU0 depending on slot, will not mine and will retain full power for your os/editing/gaming/whatever else you do :)
