Has anyone had any luck discharging NiMh batteries in the Opus?

My experience is the Opus will not discharge at any more than about 70ma.I have a few older NiMh batteries that I want to test, but they would take days to discharge. I did try both new and old batteries with the same result.I have had to resort to discharging them one at a time on my RC charger. When I bought the Opus I was looking forward to using this feature, as it is handy to be able to cycle NiMh to reverse the memory effect.

Are there any chargers like the Opus (Liitokala, Nitecore etc.) that work properly with NiMh?

I tested some old NiMh's in my Opus the other day andit worked fine. I didn't time it, I just left it going and when I checked, somewhere around 4 hours later it had finished, showing over 2Ahfrom each cell, so would have been more than 70mA for sure.

Nimh have a voltage range of 1.6 down to .9V Not sure opus would show you much info unless you had them in a 3s configuration

The Opus auto detects if a cell is NiMh or Li-Ion. It is let down that it does not display, and cannot be manually set.

I had no Idea Cool will have to try it

Let me know how you go. I have had absolutely no luck. Mine is the BT-C3100 v2.2.

It really is frustrating. Even though it is the first time I have tried to use this feature, if I can't get it working I will look at getting another charger. It would be handy to be able to capacity match AAs to use in series.

There is no reason I can see why this would happen. The cells seem to make good contact. If it was an overheating issue I believe that it would just pause.

The official specs say that the discharge current is for Li-Ion only. So I guess that may explain why it struggles with NiMh.
