PCI-E Port Multiplier Riser Cables Installation/Testing

I love the rack! :D
Gives it that personal touch :p

Maybe you can do another video where you take 4 cards and plug into the 4x riser and see what the performance difference is. That way you're not changing anything else.

Can't wait to get the results !

Love this card... been using it and all is very stable.
Mymother board is a little old (recycled from my gaming machine which was collecting dust) and that board only has two pciE x 16 slots and I have 6 GPUs...
Plugged these into the smaller slots next to the pcie slots and they work flawlessly. 3 cards each.
Somewhere I read that we should not use all 4 connectors on these boards, not sure why, but I'm good with three each.
Thumbs up here.
Thx, Howie.

I wonder why. I'm using all the slots on mine now and it is completely stable and I don't see any reduction in hash rate. I have 16 hours on it, restarted manually yesterday to test something.

I dunno, I'll try, and if so, then I can put 8 cards in it - sweet!
How many Mh/s are you getting on each of the 580's and what are your settings?
I am getting about 30 Mh/s - overclocked and patched with timing hacks.

My computer won't boot with my riser attached :(

You verified everything was seated firmly, I would assume. Have you checked all the power connections to make sure there aren't partial connections, and also check to make sure no parts have swollen or cracked or otherwise look damaged?
