Hello all,

Hopefully i am not the only one but i am looking to use some old server power supplies that i got for free to power my cell processing station. if anyone know what is the power on connector can you please point it out or if you know of a schematic that i have been unable to find, link to it. I have attached the information in the pictures and the buss bar for it.

I would like to keep this on a tight budget to saved money to put back into the project. Please leave any comments or concerns and thanks for reading.

Fairly simple. Did a search for "DPS-500LB pin out" and looked at images in google.

Yes, using Server grade PSU's are great. They are designed for higher capacity and constant usage and are generally more efficient. Plus, since they are 12V output, they can put out more amps than the multi-voltage standard PSU variants.
Just make sure you use both sides of the PCB pads to conduct the power to make sure the power is balanced from the PCB.

that is the 750 and a different bus bar config but would you think it would follow the same concept for the smaller pins?

Are they both "LB"? I'm noticing there's variants of the DPS-500(CE)(CB)(LB)(EB)(etc). And they have different pin outs. So I would assume the letter portion is the pin output arrangement.

Addendum: Looking further, nope. they won't. I see that they are different pin out arrangements. Looking at other pics.....

Addendum 2: I'll have to hand it to ya, this one is proving to be a bit of pita to find. :s

Addendum 3: I can't find that particular model (with the LB). And the other variants have a different pinout arrangement.
I found that a lot of the PSU's that had been found out where on this forum: https://www.rcgroups.com/
You have to register to even use the search function. But they have a lot of PSU's that have been documented. You could try going there and see if anyone has your particular model, or maybe they have a thread that can tell you how to figure out how to turn it on.
Sorry I couldn't be more help on this one. :s

That'd be great, mike. But, the model ends in LB. That's the part that designates the pinout arrangement. The ones you linked are GB and FB slots.

I have went through the rc forum but was no luck. the power wall was on the to do list and did my research before but finally getting it back on the active project list again. I got my solar cells in so i can start more of the project.

@Korishan, thanks for helping, i did do a lot of research for the power supply but never found anything on it. I really did not want to just start ripping it apart to smoke check the unit to get it to turn on. I do have two of them and they are functional from everything i know.
